I expect minmal frustration from this Sonic play going forward, and that's going to be refreshing coming straight off my horrific 06 and Unleashed playthroughs. Still I appreciate the fact this game has special stages at all and it makes me sad that no other 3D Sonic game has had them. Not Advance series level shit, but still shit. I've only got one chaos emerald so far and just as I remember, the special stages in Heroes are shit. 'Sonic, this time there's no way out of marrying me!' Then when you beat the stage.'Marriage?! No way!' I love it. I actually really like the more lighthearted tone this game goes for. The other boss was just beat a bunch of waves of enemies, which was fine but not anything exciting. Second boss was against Team Rose and it's just spam one move over and over again until you win. First boss was literally just chase it until it stops then mash the attack button until it dies.

Not frustrating or anything but they're not good.

The aesthetic of Sonic Heroes is so good, and the music is so on point. From Seaside Hill to Grand Metropolis to Casino Park. Loved every main stage so far in different ways. Played the first 6 stages and first 3 bosses. The team mechanic is well done and these stages are just sublime. Bright, colourful, creative and just plain fun. Been years since I've played it though and I'm really looking forward to revisiting it. A massive step up from the Sonic Adventure games. It's secretly one of the best games in the series and was certainly the finest 3D Sonic game before Colours came along. Yay this time I get to replay a good Sonic game! I've always been a big supporter of Sonic Heroes.
